Something is afoot at the Circle-K
Wait a second, did I read that correctly? Those $199 Linux PC's that Wal-Mart could not keep on the shelves in 600 stores is now being discontinued?
Why would an immensely popular product be discontinued suddenly due to it's "lack of popularity"? Does that make sense to anyone? Mark my words - there's something fishy about this and I bet we're going to see some details emerge in the coming weeks regarding exactly why the computer was shelved (no pun intended) despite it selling out.
I don't believe in coincidences. If anything, Windows Vista PC's should be discontinued because it is immensely not popular.

Something is afoot at the Circle-K
I don’t think this happened due to lack of popularity, I think there may be some technical problem which result as that Wal-Mart could not keep on the shelves in 600 stores.

that is extremely fishy...
that is extremely fishy... it almost sounds as if wal-mart was paid to take them off the shelves.
they wouldn't just take a "unpopular" (who is defining this word is beyond me) item from the shelves. anything that sells out has to be good for business.

gOS?
I think the OS of the Wal-Mart PC could be improved. How did gOS get to be the default OS in a market the size of Wal-Mart's? I think Mepis or even Freespire would be the better choice, especially Freespire with Linspire having the legal right to offer all the stuff most of us have to download to get our DVD's and .mp3 collections to work out of the box. And of course, there's always Ubuntu, openSUSE, Mandriva and Fedora.
....
Its just Microsoft flexing its power over them. But sence you can still get the computer on the website, its obvious that Wal-mart knows its worth selling.
